Well, it's been a month and I'm finally settled into my new home - with everything running smoothly now. It's been a pain waiting for certain things to be done in the UK... or is it just me.... and the fact that I cant adapt to UK living styles..... 1) When I first arrived here, and ordered my table from Argos on Sep 12 - sth strange happened... I wasnt charged with a delievery cost.... hence the fact that i had to go with my mum and complain to Argos on the 14th (supposed day of delivery) and complain. -> Furthermore that was just to hear their explaination by saying that there was a fault in the computer system...... and was told that my table would arrive anytime on the 18th.... Sept 18..... waited for one whole day just for the table....... which didnt arrive.....?!?!?!?!?!? so I called up argos to see what happened, and they say that theres a change in the delievery company and Argos themselves dont deal with the trucks that deliever... what kinda service is that?!?!?!?!?!?!? and once again apologise and promise that my table and my cousin's would arrive on teh 21st.... Sept 21... same as Sept 18... whcih pissed me off... then complained again... this time mentioning that we're university students.. who need this table more than anyone else.... and with their attitude... again the same response comes in....... this time with the 26th...... Finally on the 26th... thought both tables arrived... but only mine did so... you know what happened... callled up argos and told them that im not paying for nothing... eventually with my cousin's table arriving on the 28th of sept.... POOR and INCOMPETENT British efficiency.... No offense, but that's what I F#$%#$%#$% experienced in the UK. 2) Internet... another issue that bothers all of us.... this time it was with BT..... applied on the 14th of sept... and was told that the internet line would be active on 19th of sept... with a router coming in that week.... Again British efficiency does the explaining.... had to wait cuz they said that ther was sth wrong with the line at the exchange...... for the first time.. it sounded ok... but later on I totally lost patience with them, saying that I'm a university student in desperate need of the internet and threatened to change company if this problem wasnt solved.. This was due to the fact that i didnt recieve a proper feedback on WHEN the internet would work at my place. I only got a reason for WHY internet wasnt avalible. Finally waited until the 5th of October.... What made this frustrating was that when I wanted to change ISP... i suddenly get internet... wow....... To all fellow fds etc, if you experience this prob in the UK or overseas.. We all understand. Lesson learned: How to argue as a customer, and to stand up for yourself. Also that prolly things wont always flow smoothly. |
